Watercolor Crest - Save the Date
I know we're not supposed to pick favorites and all, but this is definitely a favorite. The bride really wanted a one-of-a-kind crest so we incorporated imagery from the Colorado mountains where the wedding will be held.
I love the bright cheerfulness of the crest balanced with the rugged letterpress on the opposite side. The Save the Date card was letterpress printed on wood grain paper, die-cut, and feature a custom illustration of antlers & headdress, along with a wood grain envelope liner. The Native American illustrations give a nod to some of the family heritage & there will be cocktails in a tee-pee on the big day. Hopefully guests are packing their bags already!

Farm to Table invitations
Our client wanted some "Farm to Table" invitations for her sons rehearsal dinner coming up this Fall. The dinner will be hosted on this gorgeous estate called Elawa Farm. We put our Tenn Hens spin on it with custom illustrations, highlighting some of the produce grown in the farms garden. The suite included letterpress, a duplexed backer, matching envelope liners, and calligraphy by Val Cole.

Teepee Invitations - Will you be my bridesmaid?
One of our brides is marrying in Steamboat Springs next summer and at the tip top of her list was to ask her favorite gals to be in the bridal party. We wanted to come up with something really meaningful and fun to get her friends exited. A teepee is a one of the images we're using in her wedding suite so we created a miniature version for the girls to set out on their desk or dresser.
The card folds in half with a blank space for the bride to write a special note. Then we tied them with twine and tucked in some feathers with a little example included on how to put together. A tiny bit of DIY and there you have your own teepee!

oakes baby announcement featured on oh so beautiful paper
We wanted to create a special birth announcement to welcome Bonnie's baby boy, Preston Oakes Cross, into the world. Our concept took its inspiration from her family farm where she grew up, married, and where Oakes will be baptized this summer.
The property is bounded by a beautiful river which brought to mind the natural world of trees, foliage, deer, canoes, and herons. The announcement is letter-pressed and duplexed with another card printed with all these images. Currier hand painted in watercolor a soft graphic pattern for the envelope liner. The photo was printed on metallic paper to add a crisp note to the overall color palette. And of course Oakes provided his adorable baby face. Don't you just want to kiss those cheeks!

30A Songwriters Festival
Each January, along scenic highway 30A in Florida, The Cultural Arts Alliance hosts a 3 day music festival along the gorgeous beaches of South Walton. This year Tenn Hens partnered with the festival to design all of their marketing materials for the festival. We created various items like web banners, ads, posters, and the program guide that's given to all attendees & sponsors. We were thrilled to work with their team and have already started on 2015s graphics.
as it turned out… we also designed the Americana Music Association's ad for the book as well

Sip & See Invitations
We have some new Sip & See invitations up on our Tenn Hens Etsy Shop.
They're 10 for $20 and include these beautiful watercolor pattern envelope liners.
A Southern tradition, the Sip 'n' See is a chance to coo over the new baby & hug the new momma. These invitations are sold blank so you can fill in the details yourself. Each envelope is lined with the coordinating watercolor pattern.
These were inspired from pieces of a birth announcement we just wrapped up. We did a mini photoshoot in the barn & will share more details really soon!

palm beach wedding
This client found our work through Pinterest, but here we are in the same town and they were already working with with Big Events Inc. We've worked with Big Events before and they are super fun so we were thrilled to do it again. This nautical themed wedding is at The Breakers in Palm Beach. Fpr the rehearsal dinner we kept it preppy and used their colors, navy & aqua. Invitations are 1 color letterpress + map liners + a coordinating label.

woodsy rehearsal dinner invitation / franklin, tennessee
Before we get too far into the new year, check out a design we did this past winter. The goal was to create an
“outdoorsy, masculine, & preppy design” for a rehearsal dinner. The
only other requirement was to include an antique monogram the couple had
chosen of their initials. Instead of creating the illustrations
ourselves, like we normally do, we found these beautiful deer
images and a botanical background.
It all really came together once we
lined the envelopes, duplexed the backs with faux-bois paper, and tied
up each package with ribbon & twine. Event planner, Elizabeth James
had the brilliant idea of using a collection of vintage stamps for
postage which was the pièce de résistance!
